Project Scope of Work

This project includes pedestrian accessibility and bicycle improvements along Baltimore Street at the Mechanic Street and Canal Street intersections. It is part of a later project, including the Baltimore Street Rail Connection, that works to establish an inter-modal transportation connection between the Amtrak Rail Service and the Great Allegheny Passage trail. This project is the first phase which includes sidewalk improvements at the Mechanic and Canal Street intersections. The Baltimore Street Rail Connection provides more information for what improvements can be expected in the future for the overall scope of work. Additionally, the installation of bicycle and destination signage and new pavement markings along Baltimore Street will be included in a later project.
