HOLIDAY EVENTS IN DOWNTOWN CUMBERLAND – NOVEMBER 16, 2023

 

The Downtown Development Commission (DDC) is pleased to announce a variety of holiday events in downtown Cumberland. 

 

The annual Tree Lighting Celebration will take place on Friday, November 24th at Canal Place Plaza, 13 Canal Street. Festivities begin at 5PM and culminate with the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus.

 

On Saturday, November 25th, the holiday shopping season will be in full swing with Shop Small Saturday throughout downtown Cumberland. Many shops will be offering specials and treats. The Shop Small Win Big contest also begins that day and runs through December 20th. Each purchase you make will qualify you to enter weekly drawings for $50 VISA gift cards and a $550 VISA gift card grand prize.

 

Visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at The Book Center on Saturdays, November 25 - December 16, from 1 - 3PM. (December 16 will be 1:30 - 3:30PM). Each child will receive a candy bag while they last.

 

Breakfast with Santa, a beloved tradition in Cumberland, kicks off November 25th and runs each Saturday through December 16th. Visit https://reimaginecumberland.com/ for details on locations and times.

 

The First Annual Cumberland Winter Festival and Market will take place December 2nd and 9th at Canal Place Plaza from 5-9PM each night. Highlights will include festive live music, artisan and retail vendors, free gift wrapping, snacks and beverages, reindeer games for all ages, voting at the bicycle decorating contest, a selfie photo station, and fire pits for roasting marshmallows. Come get in the spirit of the season!

 

The Cumberland New Year's Eve Celebration will take place on Sunday, December 31st at 10:30PM at Canal Place Plaza. Help count down to 2024 with our annual ball drop! Giveaways will be provided to party-goers and fireworks will begin at midnight!
