Human Relations Commission


 

Human Relations Commission is a seven-member Commission. The commission is responsible for the elimination of discrimination in all areas of community life.  This involves the adoption and implementation of a comprehensive educational and action plan; receiving and investigating complaints involving various forms of discrimination; adopt rules and regulations that allow the commission to carry out its assigned functions; and cooperate with federal and state agencies having similar functions.

 

 

The CUMBERLAND HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION is a 7-Member Commission that meets the fourth Thursday of the month from 5 to 6:30 pm in the Human relations Commission Office, at 13 Canal St., Suite 304, Cumb. MD 21502.

The mission of the Cumberland Human Relations Commission is to ensure equal opportunity to all through the enforcement of City of Cumberland’s; State of Maryland's; and Federal Government laws against discrimination in housing to provide educational and outreach services related to the provisions of this law; and to promote and improve human relations in the City of Cumberland.
