Neighborhood Meeting Materials

Throughout 2010, Cumberland planning staff will be conducting a series of meetings in each of the 10 major residential neighborhoods in the City.  The purpose of these meetings is to:

  • Coordinate with the existing Neighborhood Associations in the City and encourage the formation of new associations in neighborhoods that lack them;

  • Identify neighborhood issues and needs from the citizens;

  • Identify features of the neighborhoods that citizens cherish most and that are critical to neighborhood identity;

  • Encourage and promote social cohesion and citizen interaction within the neighborhoods; and

  • identify neighborhood issues that are critical to the City's overall planning strategies.

The materials that appear on this page were developed or compiled as background information and tools to help achieve these objectives during the neighborhood meeting process.  Staff is making them available on this web page to help educate the citizens about the process and to make it easier for people to obtain the information.  E-mail comments from citizens are welcome, but any e-mail submission should clearly identify the specific neighborhood that the comments apply to.  The specific neighborhood boundaries are shown on the Neighborhood Boundaries Map.
