The Mayor and Council accept a Maryland Municipal League award from Councilman “Pete” Elliott. 

The City of Cumberland was named a Maryland Municipal League Banner City Town at the annual MML convention in Ocean City in June 2010.  The Banner City/Town designation is awarded to the municipality, not an individual. Any number of your City’s/Town’s elected and appointed officials may work together to accomplish the five MML participation requirements.
This one-year program begins June 1 and ends May 25 annually. Those cities and towns earning the Banner City/Town designation are recognized at the annual convention.
