[ARCHIVED] HOLIDAY SEASON TRASH SCHEDULE AND CHRISTMAS TREE COLLECTION

There will be no trash collection in the City of Cumberland on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 and Tuesday, January 1, 2019.   Residents of areas affected by this change should put their trash out on their next regularly scheduled collection day.

Residents may dispose of their live Christmas trees by placing them at the curb on their regular trash days.

Residents interested in recycling their live Christmas trees may take them to the Penn-Mar Recycling Center, 975 Kelly Road (behind the Allegany County office complex).  Trees may be taken to this location seven days a week from dawn to dusk beginning Wednesday, December 26, 2018 and continuing through and including Sunday, January 20, 2019.  Trees will also be accepted for recycling at the Allegany County Yard Waste and Mulch site at North Branch Industrial Park, 11700 PPG Road.  Their hours of operation are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  All decorations must be removed from the tree before taking it to either location for recycling.  Flocked trees are not accepted.
