The Mayor and City Council of Cumberland invite Cumberland citizens to consider serving as a member of the City Council to fill the January 1, 2016, vacancy created by the resignation of council member David Kauffman.
Cumberland residents interested in serving on the City Council should submit a letter of interest to the attention of the Office of ?the ?Mayor by noon on December 1, 2015. The letter should express the individual’s interest in serving on the Council, share their vision for the future of Cumberland, and identify what characteristics and experiences best qualify them to serve as a representative of the citizens of Cumberland.
The four remaining members of the City Council will choose from the submitted letters of interest to invite potential candidates to be interviewed and allow them the opportunity to speak at a public council meeting. It is expected that a new member of the City Council will be appointed in January, 2016.
