[ARCHIVED] The Arrival of Spring also Means the Arrival of Construction Season

The City of Cumberland Engineering Department would like to remind everyone that the arrival of Spring also means the arrival of the construction season. Motorist, cyclists, and pedestrians are asked to use caution when traveling in construction areas; and obey the flaggers and the traffic control devices at all times. Expect delays, changes to the traffic patterns, and possible detours.

Work has resumed along Baltimore Avenue to complete that project. Additionally, sidewalk and curb ramp improvements are scheduled to begin this week at the Mechanic Street/Baltimore Street Intersection. In the near future the sidewalks around City Hall will be replaced, which will impact traffic on the adjoining streets.

Additional improvements are being planned throughout Cumberland; which will include pavement patching, pavement overlays, and other street and sidewalk repairs. Future press releases will be made as those projects near construction.

If there are any questions please contact the City of Cumberland Engineering Division 301-759-6600 or 301-759-6603.
